Our Story

From Lisbon to the world, the Color Square brand arises from the desire of mother and daughter to bring wooden toys, games, activities and carefully selected books to stimulate children's creativity, in a world increasingly full of screens.

Children must play freely, without guidance and instructions, but they must also have moments of connection with the family in which everyone is centered on the now, develop their artistic side and grow with the values of empathy, generosity and active awareness so that they can contribute to a better world in the future.

We bring brands from all over the world with concerns about the sustainability of our planet. All brands we select are loved in our own homes and made to last for several generations

We are also creating the Color Square brand of clothing for children from 1 to 10, made of organic and recycled cotton, produced sustainably in Portugal and with timeless and gender free collections, developed by guest artists. We call them "Artist Editions”.

Meet our team

A family-run business born in Lisbon in 2022.

Inês studied management but marketing is her passion. She worked for 15 years in multinationals companies in the cosmetics area, but after being a mother of 3 boys and constantly looking for more sustainable toys that stimulate the creativity of her children, as well as clothes of quality with design that can pass from one to the other, she thought it made sense to create her own brand. She loves to travel as a family and inspiration often comes from these trips.

Teresa is a pharmacist, but has worked all her life in cosmetics. She is the mother of 2 grown children and grandmother of 5 boys. Passionate about nature, over the last few years her concern for our planet and what we eat has become a priority in life. On her farm in Serra da Estrela she has grown a vegetable garden and an organic orchard from which she makes homemade jams! Her grandchildren are already involved in field work and harvesting what nature offers in different seasons. Her passion for knitting that comes from her grandmother, was passed on to her grandchildren who wanted sweaters for their dolls. Teresa's knittings for dolls are now available on our website!
