Maria has been designing art workshops, museum visits and pedagogical projects at the Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian and Cinemateca Junior in Lisbon since 2006 and 2008, respectively.

She designs and delivers children workshops based on children’s books, fine arts and cinema for several institutions and festivals.

I’ve drawn things I love (since ever). Simple things from this very complex world. Pencils that light up ideas; balancer stones; counting time in pyramid-hourglasses; the moon that turns above us; night and day (and light and dark); friends and their shared secrets; light and free girl-butterflies; the photo camera that does magic taking the past into the future. They’re illustrations for small-size clothes to be worn by people with big-size dreams.
